Essay Competition Announcement

The Organization of West African Youth (OWAY), in collaboration with the Udu Local Government Council, is thrilled to announce an exciting Essay Competition for all SS2 and SS3 secondary school students in Udu Local Government Area.

 

Guidelines:

  • All entries must be typed in English.
  • Each participant can submit only one entry. Multiple entries will lead to disqualification.
  • Participants must include their name, school name, email address, and phone number in their submissions.
  • Only students in SS2 and SS3 from Udu Local Government are eligible to apply.
  • Maximum word count for entries is 1,000 words.
  • Students are to write on one topic only from the options provided.
  • Submission Deadline: February 15, 2025.

Competition Topics

  1. The Importance of Community Service
    Discuss how volunteering and community service can make a difference in local communities.

  2. Leadership and Integrity
    Reflect on the qualities of a good leader and the importance of integrity in leadership roles.

Prizes:

  • 1st Prize: ₦150,000
  • 2nd Prize: ₦100,000
  • 3rd Prize: ₦50,000
  • Consolation Prizes:
    • 10 students will receive ₦10,000 each.
    • 20 students will receive cartons of noodles.
