
THE LONG-TERM ELECTION OBSERVATION MISSION OF THE CEDEA BEGINS ITS ACTIVITIES IN IVORY COAST
On October 3, 2025, in Abidjan, the Economic Community of West African States (MOELD) Long-term Election Observation Mission (MOELD), deployed in the framework of the presidential election scheduled for October 25, 2025 in the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, officially launched its activities. The launching ceremony took place at the ECOWAS Representative in Côte d’Ivoire, under the chairmanship of Her Excellency Mrs. Fanta Cissé, Resident Representative of the President of the ECOWAS Commission.
In his speech, His Excellency Fanta Cisse welcomed the team and congratulated the outstanding experts. He reiterated the crucial importance of this mission for consolidating democracy and stability in the country.
He also emphasized the responsibility assigned to long-term observers, whose mandate consists to closely monitor the entire electoral process, collect and analyze information on the ground, and contribute to the prevention and resolution of possible tensions. Lady Fanta Cissé equally renewed her constant support to the team, as well as that of her entire staff, throughout the duration of the mission.
